LAHORE In the meeting of cabinet committee for the supervision of Muharram arrangements, the Tehsil Municipal Administrations (TMAs) in the province have been directed to check the sewerage lines, gutters and manholes on the routes of Muharram/Ashura processions and to clear them according to security point of view. The TMAs have been further directed to remove garbage and every type of hurdle on the processions roads. The meeting was also informed that the Aashur processions would be monitored by helicopters and sniffer dogs in big cities would also be used on processions routs. The meeting was presided over by Senior Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister, Sirdar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa and attended by Advisor to CM Jehanzaib Barki, Colonel (r) Shuja Khanzada, MPAs Rana Muhammad Arshad and Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmed, Additional IG Police, Commissioner and DCO Lahore, officers of law enforcement agencies, Secretary Home, I&C, Prosecution, DGPR and high ranking officials of concerned departments. Khosa said continuous monitoring of the arrangements should be made according to the local circumstances for maintenance of law and order and complete harmony in the present situation particularly in coming few days. He said foolproof security arrangements as well as lighting at Majalis should be ensured and no one should be allowed to enter in the limits of Majalis and procession without complete search.
