LAHORE - An agreement of strategic alliance was signed in Karachi between The Total Group, the fifth largest oil company in the world and Atlas Group. In Pakistan, Total's representation is through two companies namely, Total Atlas Lubricants Pakistan, a joint venture with Atlas Group, dealing with lubricants and Total Parco Pakistan Limited, a joint venture with PARCO, the largest refinery in Pakistan, focusing on fuels and retail operations, says a press release. Atlas Group is a well-diversified group engaged in engineering, power generation, insurance, asset management and trading businesses. It has joint ventures with world-renowned companies like Honda Motor Company and GS Yuasa of Japan, MAN of Germany and TOTAL of France. The agreement will serve to facilitate contacts and communication between both groups in an effort to explore areas of mutual cooperation and enhance further their good relationship. The ceremony was attended by Thierry Pflimlin, SVP Total Asia Pacific, Christian Cabrol VP Operations Total Asia Pacific, Marc Soissong, Total's Country Manager, Qasim Zaheer, TALP's CEO, Yusuf H.
