RAWALPINDI  – A trial court on Friday accepted bail petition of former SSP Railways Javed Khan in three different cases against surety bonds of Rs 100,000 each.

Railway Police had filed three cases against the former official for indulging in illegal recruitments, changing official record and abuse of powers after he got retired from the service last year. Special Judge Central (SJC) Iftikhar Ali approving bail of the accused, who was suffering from high blood pressure, diabetics and heart ailment and presently admitted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, ordered for his release against the surety bonds.

Counsels for the accused Sheikh Ahsan-ud-Din and Qazi Waqar contended that their client was serious ill and the cases framed against him were based  malafide intention and politically motivated. They argued that Javed Khan had denied all allegations and he was of such a caliber that he was nominated for the Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal award for recovering stolen railway tracks.

Railway Prosecutor Inspector Muhammad Riaz Bosal opposed the bail petition saying that the accused had to be interrogated yet thoroughly in the corruption and fraud cases.
