RAWALPINDI - Not letup in looting spree in the city as unknown robbers mugged thousands of rupees from 11 shops by smashing the locks, located at Log Welfare Complex, Askari 11 while two dacoits snatched cash from a mill owner at Punjg Sarki area here on Friday.

The city police filed cases with no arrest of recovery so far.

In the first incident, occurred in the limits of Police Station (PS) Race Course, unknown robbers arrived in the market broken the locks of 11 shops. Later, they collected cash and other valuables. However, the owner of only one grocery shop Haji Muhammad Nawaz appeared before police and told that he was informed by somebody at 5am about the robbery incident. “I rush towards my shop and found Rs 200,000 and other valuables missing,” he mentioned in application on which police taken up case. A police official of PS Race Course confirmed the incident and said that 11 shops were mugged by unknown robbers. He said that police registered a case on complain of one victim while the other victims were ascertaining their loss. Cases would be registered after complaints, he added. Two unidentified dacoits snatched Rs 1,55,000 from two businessmen outside Allied Bank Limited, Punj Sarkri Branch, the limits of PS Civil Line. According to the contents of the application, filed by one victim Nadeem Zaib son of Aurangzeb, hails from Mandra, he was employed in Al-Rehman Floor Mills, Sagri Mor and came in ABL along with his boss Habib-ur-Rehman to withdraw cash.

He mentioned  that as they left the bank for embarking in their car parked on some distance, two young boys appeared from somewhere and snatched the cash from them and run away.

The police filed case and launched investigation.
