PESHAWAR - Vice President, Pak-Afghan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PAJCCI), Usman Bashir Bilour has stressed mutual cooperation in promotion of trade and economic linkages between the two neighbouring countries.

He was addressing at a seminar on Pak Afghan Journalists Conference, said that the promotion of trade would play role for ending the present tension among both the neighbouring states.

Bilour further informed that PAJCCI had taken practical steps for removal of impediments being faced by business community of both the countries, while it was also identifying areas for further provision of facilities to the community. “Both Pakistan and Afghanistan should take serious steps for provision of maximum facilities to both side business community”, he stressed.

PAJCCI vice president informed the participants of the conference about the initiative taken by the joint chamber for promotion of economic and trade linkages between Pakistan and Afghanistan. “The chamber joint is being playing effective role for improvement of trade linkage among both neighbouring states”, he added.

He asked the businessperson to take fully benefits from investment in fresh fruit, dry-fruit and seasonal production of both the countries. He said the confidence building is imminent for promotion of mutual trade and economic relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Bilour said that the peace and favourable environment would helpful to create maximum opportunities for improvement in trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. The PAJCCI vice president informed the Afghan journalists about the various agreements under the auspicious of the joint chamber, and other issues, reservations of business community of the both neighbouring states.

He expressed the hope that the establishment of the Pak-Afghan joint chamber would play an important role for improvement of trade between Afghanistan and central Asian Republic (CAR) states.

SCCI inaugurates Crafts Bazaar in Peshawar

President Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Friday, inaugurated Crafts Bazaar in Peshawar and appreciated the skill of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa woman in making handicrafts.

Provincial Chief of SMEDA Javed Khattak, Project Manager WBDC Nabila Farman and Mohammad Ibrahim Sarwar were also present on the occasion. President Sarhad Chamber of commerce Doctor Muhammad Yousaf visited different stalls and took keen interest in handicrafts. Participants on this occasion informed the president that woman hailing from Swat, DI Khan, Mardan, Haripoor and Abbotabad has decorated this bazaar with their attractive skill.

The president on this occasion appreciated the traditional skill of the woman and congratulated them by introducing new traditional handicrafts item in the market.

Provincial Chief of SMEDA Javed Khattak and WBDC Project manager Nabeela Farman highlighted the objectives of WBDC and appraised the president of the facilities given to the workers.

President Sarhad Chamber of Commerce stressed the woman of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to participate in such exhibition and further promote this skill of handicrafts. He said that despite of deteriorated law and order situation, the woman are contributing well in this field and they deserved appreciation.

He also urged upon the Project Manager of WBDC to extend this project on permanent basis and demanded of the government to provide more funds to this organization. He said organizing such kinds of exhibition woman of this militancy-hit province would be encouraged to introduce their products at national and international level.
