RAWALPINDI – Chaudhry Sarfaraz Afzal, PML-N MPA and Advisor to the Punjab Chief Minister, came down hard on the high-ups of City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) and police on the issue of increasing incidents of land grabbing in the city including in his constituency and assured that he would take up the matter with the CM Shahbaz Sharif in couple of days.

“I have received several complaints also from downtrodden segments that their precious lands are being occupied illegally by the land mafia. I will not spare the land mafia and would request the CM to issue strict orders to Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and Regional Police Officer (RPO) to take action against the land grabbers,” he told the media.

He said that the law and order situation of the city was also very miserable whereas police and district administration taking no necessary action. The government was aware of the plights being faced by the masses.

He said that all were equal into the eyes of law in addition with police and district administration should not deal softly with the land grabbers.

Chaudhary Sarfaraz Afzal said this while responding to queries of media men on Friday after addressing a public gathering in Dhoke Paharian. He also inaugurated development schemes worth Rs 4 million in Union Council (UC) Kalyal.

The public gathering was organized by PML-N local leader and Chairman Zakat Committee Haji Muhammad Yasin while attended by N League former Nazim Chaudhry Ilyas, UC Kalyal President Raja Nisar, Raja Naseer, Raja Safeer, Raja Tanveer, Sabir Khan and many other notables of the area.

Earlier, the MPA, speaking with the public gathering, said that education was mandatory for any one and the Punjab government did a lot for the promotion of education besides launching development schemes worth million of rupees to bring betterment in the life of masses. He said that four new degree colleges for boys and girls have been constructed in UC Kalyal and Dhama. However, classes commenced in one college and the construction work of other three colleges would be completed soon.

He said that he spent huge funds on renovation of roads, streets and sewage system in his constituency.

The Advisor to CM was of view that Pakistan has been facing a critical phase with shortage of gas, petrol and electricity.

 He asked the people to vote for N league in upcoming elections to steer the country out from crises.
