PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak while thanking the doctors for ending their strike in all government hospitals and health centres has termed it a wise decision and assured that provincial government would leave no stone unturned for security and well being of doctors community.
He said, "We are endeavouring for the same purpose of a safe, healthy and prosperous nation and hence we are not to revenge the poor patients by strikes in hospitals for any lapse on part of security officials."
Earlier a delegation of Doctor Coordination Committee comprising all associations of senior and junior doctors called on the chief minister at the CM House Peshawar and apprised him of the concern and sense of unrest prevalent among the doctors ' community due to abduction of Dr Amjad Taqweem and Dr Mujahid Bangesh.
The committee besides calling for recovery of the abducted doctors put forth their demands for security of the doctors community. Health Minister Shaukat Ali Yousafzai, Secretary Home Syed Akhter Ali Shah, CCPO Peshawar and other authorities were also present on this occasion.
The chief minister while accepting all the demands of the doctors coordination committee, directed the home secretary and Peshawar police chief to start work on it immediately.
The DCC announced ending doctors protest strikes following assurance of the chief minister.
In view of these demands, SHO Tatara Hayatabad was immediately suspended for negligence. Similarly it was decided to form a judicial commission comprising judges of High Court for inquiry of abduction cases. The CCPO was asked to immediately meet chief executives of all three teaching hospitals of Peshawar to chalk out foolproof security plan for doctors and appoint new security officials on emergency basis if required. Similarly the illegal occupants in doctors hostels would be forcibly and promptly ousted. Home department was asked to install GSM trackers, scanners and CCTV cameras on important places for security of the doctors . Similarly quick response force would be set up for safety of doctors while the boundary wall around Hayatabad would be completed on emergent basis.
