PESHWARAR - In order to draw future line of action and condemn US drone strikes on Pakistan, Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) has convened a “grand jirga” on December 22 in Peshawar.

To decide about holding a jirga, a meeting of the DPC steering committee was held at Al-Markaz-e-Islami, which was attended by all the parties working under the umbrella of DPC. Prominent among them were JI leader Shabbir Ahmad Khan, JUI-Sami Provincial President Maulana Yousaf Shah, provincial head of Jamaat Ahl-e-Sunnah Atta Mohammad, Jamaat-ud-Dawa leader Yawar Aftab and others. For holding the scheduled “grand jirga”, the participants of the meeting formed an organising committee to make arrangements for the jirga. JI’s Bahrullah Khan would be the president of the committee while its other members are Maulana Ismail Darvesh, Abdul Haseeb Haqqani, Juma Khan and Ghaniur Rahman.

Moreover, they were unanimous to invite all political parties to the jirga, besides representatives of trade unions, lawyer organisations, journalist bodies, trade organisations and others.
