LAHORE - Governor of the Punjab Ch Muhammad Sarwar on Saturday said that GSP+ status to Pakistan is a long stride towards entering trade with the world instead of living on aid from others. He said the status speaks of the vision of the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the direction of his economic policies.

The Governor was speaking at a reception he hosted in honour of members of the European Parliament David Martin and Dr Sajjad Karim who played a vital role in the achieving the country GSP+ status in the EU markets. On the occasion the Governor also conferred honorary degrees of doctorate on these personalities.

The Governor said in the war on terror Pakistan rendered sacrifice of over 50,000 lives and suffered huge economic loss and the GSP is an acknowledgement of the same by the European states.
