All the 15 councillors elected independently here have joined the PML-N which now is ready to clinch the slot of chairman of Municipal Committee with majority.
PML-N Daska city president Afzal Mansha welcomed the independents into the party. During the meeting, all the independent candidates expressed full confidence in the policies of the PML-N and announced to join it. They had been denied the party tickets by local PML-N leadership but they contested the Dec 05, 2015 LB polls as independent candidates and became winners. The PML-N and independent candidates have won 15 seats each out of total 30 seats of general councillors in Daska Municipal Committee.
Those councillors joined PML-N are: Zafar Iqbal Dar, Mian Muzaffar Iqbal, Mirza Yasir, Khawaja Atif, Ayub Butt, Javaid Iqbal, Asadullah Behgal, Rafique Chohan, Waqas Bilal, Abid Ali, Sadique Mehar, Rana Mushtaq, Gulfam Sahi and Ashfaq Ahmed Ansari.
Addressing the meeting, MNA Sahibzada Syed Iftikharul Hassan Shah said that his party had left all the other main political parties far behind after winning the LB polls. He added that it firmly believed in the promotion of democracy. He said that the PML-N was the only main political party which always ensured the supremacy of the Constitution promoting democracy in party ranks in the country.
He said that the government’s policies were now bearing fruits which were now reaching the common people. He said that the true and loyal workers are the precious assets of the PML-N and it was striving to protect the basic rights of the party workers. Commenting on the victory of PML-N across the Punjab, the MNA said that the PML-N not only won the LB polls but also won the hearts of the masses.
He said that the people have again trust in the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif adding that it was enjoying the status of the biggest political party in the country. He said that the government was fulfilling its political promises to the people and striving to raise the living standard of the people by ensuring early provision of basic facilities at their doorsteps.
He added that the tremendous victory of PML-N in LB polls had also proved that the people were totally satisfied with performance of the PML-N. He said that the government was delivering successfully curbing the menace of energy crisis and other inner and outer dangers. On the occasion, PML-N Daska City President Afzal Mansha said that the people have strongly rejected the negative politics of conflict in the polls. He noted that the results of these polls carry the lessons for those who did Dharna politics. He said that it was mandatory to serve the people without discrimination.
