ISLAMABAD: The returning officer in Sanghar today sent a letter to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), demanding Rangers deployment at sensitive areas for the re-polls in the district. Polling in Sanghar would be held on December 17.

The letter sought security personnel deputation in the wake of security threats and brawls. The ECP is likely to direct the Home Minister and Defence Minister regarding the issue, while the officers of Pakistan Army would work as Quick Response Force.

It is pertinent to mention here that the election was suspended in Sanghar due to apprehensions of political clashes, during second phase of local bodies polls. The local administration has ensured all the arrangements and has asked for deployment of troops.
