KARACHI  - Provincial Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that if children refuse to be administered polio drops during school timings on the instructions of their parents, not only their admissions will be cancelled but appropriate action would also be taken against their parents.

He was talking to a delegation of All Sindh Private Schools Management here at his office on Wednesday.

Khalid Shah, Faisal Khan Zai, Aftab Soomro, Ashraf Bin Muhammad and other representatives of the Association were also present on the occasion.

The minister requested office-bearers of the management not to allow any government teacher to teach in their institutions during school timings, as it was a violation of the rules. “And if I found anyone doing so, not only action would be taken against the teacher, but management of the institute would also be taken to the task,” he warned.

The minister added, “It is a right time to develop an atmosphere of trust between the government and the private sector, “Because, together we will be able to achieve 100 percent literacy rate in the province.”

Dahar also asked members of the delegation to cooperate with the government in vaccinating the children in their respective educational institutions against polio. “Only a combined move could eradicate polio,” he noted.

The minister suggested them to hire educated, trained and experienced teaching staff for their institutions so that the standards of education could be improved.

Members of the delegation, while assuring their cooperation to the government, conveyed their grievances to the minister, and requested him to resolve their issues on priority basis.
