islamabad - An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad Wednesday accepted an application for initiating process to declare Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain as proclaimed offender.

ATC judge Sohail Ikram conducted hearing of the case registered against Altaf Hussain for making hateful and provocative speech against Pakistan army. During the hearing, police submitted an application to start the process to declare Altaf Hussain as proclaimed offender in a case registered with the secretariat police of Islamabad for his hateful speech against Pakistan army.

It was July 14 last year when the federal capital police had registered a case against Altaf Hussain for using abusive language against Pakistan army and threatened to create law and order situation in Karachi.

It was stated in the application submitted to the police that the said speech of the accused defamed Pakistan and its army across the world.
