Protest in Washuk against Qatari princes’ bird hunting

QUETTA - The residents of district Washuk yesterday poured into streets against illicit houbara bustard hunting by Qatari princes.

Addressing a press conference, Washuk District Chariman Haji Shukarullah and others said the Supreme Court had banned hunting of houbara bastard, but a federal minister who belongs to Balochistan has allowed Qatari princes to hunt the bird, who had also damaged crops and farms in the district.

They said this unjust step of the federal minister has triggered extreme rage among the citizens of the district, adding it was a bid to spoil the peaceful environment of the district. Theysaid the federal minister, allowing Qatari princes to hunt houbara bustard, has clearly defied the directives of the apex court.

They appealed to the apex court to take notice of the violation of its instructions, immediately ban hunting of houbara bustard by the Qatari princes and expel them from their area.

FIA DRIVE AGAINST CRIMINALS

The Federal Investigation Agency has launched a drive against the most wanted criminals in Balochistan.

According to details, the FIA team, conducting a raid in Usta Muhammad, nailed ex-utility store in-charge who was wanted in corruption cases.

FIA Deputy Director Rizwan Aslam disclosed the FIA team conducted a raid in the Usta Muhammad area of Jaffarabad and held a wanted criminal, Muhammad Ali, a former in-charge of a utility store. A case of a utility store corruption was filed against him in 2009. He avoided arrest and was declared a proclaimed offender by the court. The FIA sources said raids were being conducted against other wanted criminals.

10kg bomb defused in Nasirabad

Foiling a major subversive bid, the Levies personnel defused a 10 kilogram bomb in Chattar area of Nasirabad on Wednesday.

According to Levies sources, militants had planted a 10 kilogram bomb near a well which was defused by bomb disposal team after getting information of the bomb.
