KARACHI (APP) - Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister and a prominent leader of PML-F, Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh has supported the stand taken by Sindh Chief Minister on controversial Chashma-Jhelum Link Canal Hydro power plant and said that people of Sindh will not remain silent on this issue. He said the political leadership should find out a solution to this issue before it becomes disputed like Kalabagh dam. Imtiaz Shiakh said that Sindh should be given its share of water as per 1991 Accord as it is already faced with grave water shortage He pointed out that CJ Link canal would have to be supplied water all the year around for the plant operation and being a link canal water cannot be released into it for the whole year. He said Mian Nawaz Sharif is a leader of national stature and he should intervene and get the issue resolved for he looks upon the people of Sindh with great respect. Mr Shaikh said that Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has fully defended the stand taken by Sindh on this issue and PML Functional supports it. He called for summoning the meeting of Council of Common Interests to hear the view of Sindh province as this is an issue of life and death for the Province.
