QUETTA - Unknown persons blew up the rail track linking Quetta with rest of the country in Sariab area of the provincial capital on Sunday while a bomb blast also occurred in Khuzdar. Official sources said that unknown persons placed explosive on rail track in Sariab area within the precincts of New Sariab police station which blew up one and half feet long piece of the track, cutting off the rail link temporarily between Quetta and rest of the country. On being informed, police and bomb disposal squad rushed to the site when another blast took place. However, no loss of life and damage to the track was occurred in second blast. The railway technical staff has been sent to repair the track while Chiltan Express was stopped at Sariab Railway Station. In yet another incident, unidentified people had planted an explosive device with the boundary wall of the building of Livestock Department in Khuzdar. The device exploded with a big bang smashing windowpanes of the building and partially damaging the wall. Police have registered cases of both incidents and started investigation.
