JHANG - At least four people were killed and three other received serious injuries in separate incident in different parts of Jhang over the past 24 hours.

As per detail, the first incident took place in front of the main entrance of district courts when one Waris Shah was shot at and killed by three armed motorcyclists identified as Abdul Qadir Khan and Noman Khan and their unknown accomplice.

At least four passers-by also sustained bullet wounds in the incident and taken to DHQ Hospital.

However, one of the injured Jamshad Ali succumbed to his wounds on way to hospital. Ill-fated 18-year-old Jamshad was coming to submit his form-B in Nadra office situated in front of main gate of district courts.

One of the assailants was also injured in the cross-fire by the gunman of deceased Waris. The motive behind the incident is said to be a land dispute between one Shera Draj, a landlord of Mor Molvana and deceased Waris Shah.

The Kotowali Police registered a case and arrested two of the assailants.

Meanwhile, a notorious proclaimed offender identified as Abdul Majeed alias Majeedi was killed in a shootout with police here in the jurisdictions of Ahmedpur Sial Police.

Similarly, in another incident one Muhammad Saqlain, a trailer driver, a resident of chak Qaisarwala situated in the Gharh Maharaja Police precincts, was shot dead by some unidentified armed dacoits.

Saqlain was coming from Karachi in his loaded trailer and was bound for Faisalabad when in Gharh Maharaja area dacoits tried to stop him.

However, he tried to flee at which the culprits let off a volley of gunshots at him, killing him on the spot.
