LAHORE – A high-level meeting, held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Tuesday with Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in the chair, reviewed the pace of progress of the agreements signed between the provincial government and Turkey for cooperation in energy, transport, solid waste management, construction and other sectors.  Addressing the meeting, Shahbaz said the agreements would be given a practical shape and projects in the above-said sectors “will be completed in a transparent manner”. While issuing instructions for constituting a committee comprising ministers, MPAs and government officers for the speedy implementation of the projects, the CM required the future committee to meet every week.  Secretaries of various departments and Commissioner Lahore Division informed the meeting about their visit to Turkey and the pace of progress on the joint ventures between Turkey and Punjab. The participants of the meeting also gave their proposals regarding these projects. The meeting also reviewed the projects of southern loop of Lahore Ring Road and Bus Rapid Transit System.
