LAHORE – Judicial Commission formed to probe the deaths of over one hundred cardiac patients due to reaction of spurious medicines on Tuesday started inquiry.

According to a press release issued by LHC, former chief executive of Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) Prof Dr Muhammad Azhar and former secretary Health Punjab Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan appeared before the tribunal and recorded their statements on oath. They also produced certain documents in support of their statement before the tribunal.

The tribunal barred media persons from conducting live coverage of inquiry proceedings and decided to hold in-camera proceedings. The tribunal issued notice to Punjab Home Secretary to appear before it on Wednesday (today). The Tribunal is conducting proceedings on day-to-day basis.
