LAHORE – A two-judge bench of the Lahore High Court on Tuesday summoned National Accountability Bureau Investigation Officer on plea of wife of a NRO beneficiary seeking possession of her property worth Rs6.4 million from the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) custody.

Naseem Chaudhary filed the petition submitting that NAB was not giving the possession of her property seized by it over the charges that her husband Munir-ud-Din was an accused of multi-million fraud case. She requested the directions to NAB for giving her possession of property.

NAB Legal Expert Hanif Tahir told the bench headed by Justice Najam-ul-Hassan that Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had registered a case against ex-officer of Accountant General (AG) Munir and others over the charges of embezzlement of Rs46 million. Later the case was transferred to NAB which was closed after the promulgation of NRO in Musharf regime.

The bench recorded the arguments of both parties and put off the hearing on next weak while directing the concerned IO of NAB to appear before the court along with record of the case.
