HAFIZABAD - A proclaimed offender wanted in more than 50 cases of murder, robbery and dacoity has been shot dead mysteriously.

Munir alias Saboo, a resident of Sooianwala village, had become a symbol of terror, police officials and the villagers said. The deceased was on his way the village on a bike and killed by unknown persons.

FOUR HURT IN FIRE: Four persons including three brothers sustained serious burns when a fire erupted in the house of a trader in Nawab Colony due to gas leakage. The Rescue 1122 personnel rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire with strenuous efforts and rescued Abdul Hafeez, Abdul Qadeem, Abdul Haseeb and Zafar Iqbal and shifted them to DHQ Hospital wherefrom the brothers were referred to a Lahore hospital in critical condition.

ZAKAT DEMANDED: Five people including three women have complained against the non-payment of for the past five years.

Amin, Bushra, Naziran, Bashiran and Muhammad Sharif of Sanbal village said that despite the orders of the DCO to the district Zakat officer, they were not being paid Zakat. They said that they are penniless and facing starvation.
