LAHORE - Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Amin Wains on Wednesday pinned badges on the uniforms of 47 newly promoted traffic officers during a simple ceremony at the police headquarters.

The city police chief also presented a copy of the Holy Quran as a gift to the officers who were promoted to the rank of senior traffic wardens following approval of the departmental promotion board. SSP Rana Ayaz Saleem and CTO Rai Ejaz Ahmad were also present on this occasion.

Addressing the traffic officers, Wains said it was their prime responsibility to serve the people with dedication and enthusiasm. He also congratulated the officers who got promoted to the next rank after showing wonderful performance and honesty.

CTO Rai Ejaz Ahmad said the city police department had introduced a new culture of friendly environment where traffic officers are given respect and all possible resources to excel. He also expressed the hope the newly promoted officers would leave no stone unturned to further improve working of the department.

Later, the officers appeared before the police chief and presented salute one by one. Each of them was given flowers and a copy of the Quran by the city police chief.
