GUJRANWALA - The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) registered cases against seven officers of Gujranwala Solid Waste Management Company (GSWMC) for their alleged involvement in the embezzlement of funds amounting to Rs80 million on Wednesday.

ACE Regional Director Fareed Ahmed told the media that the anti-corruption watchdog carried out investigation into the funds embezzlement and found the allegations levelled against the officials true. The officials included former GSWMC MD Attaul Haq, senior manager operations Rana Murad Ali Khan, chief finance officer, manager workshop and others.

After approval from the competent authority, FIRs had been registered against the said officials.

The officials were allegedly responsible for embezzling Rs80 million in the name of purchase of vehicles, machinery, petrol and other equipment.
