LAHORE - Unseeded Ivan Lutkin of Russia stunned top seed Yunes Talavar of Iran in a well-contested three-set match in the ITF Pakistan Junior Tennis Championship that commenced at PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad.
According to information made available here on Monday, in the first set, both the players broke the first game of each other and then Ivan did not allow his opponent to settle down and broke the 4th and 6th games of Yunes to finish at 6-1. In the second set, Yunes bounced back well, taking the set 6-2 by breaking the 2nd, 6th and 8th game of Ivan to level the match 1-all. In the final set, Ivan once again excelled and won the set by 6-4. Another exciting match of the day was played between AdiibekMyrzaguzhin of Kazakhstan and Huzaifa Abdul Rehman of Pakistan, which was won by the Kazakh player 4-6, 6-3, 6-1. The doubles draw for boys and girls were also taken out on Monday. PTF President Salim Saifullah Khan visited the Tennis Complex, witnessed the matches and interacted with the participating players, coaches, parents and officials.
