'Bar, Bench should avoid conflict

LAHORE - Lahore High Court Justice Ch Iftikhar Hussain on Friday stressed upon the lawyers community to maintain the unity between Bench and Bar because it would become helpful for providing earliest justice to litigants. He was addressing the annual function organised by Lahore Bar Association at its ending tenure at Aiwan-e-Adl on Friday. Addressing the lawyers, Ch Iftikhar Hussain said there should be strong relationship between Bench and Bar as it would strengthen rule of law in the society and the lack of co-operation would cause loss of administration of justice. He said the LHC would do every possible effort on priority basis for resolving the problems being faced by the LBA. LBA President Sajid Bashir said lawyers of Lahore district were united and committed with their profession as they were also the voice of the country. He demanded that a policy of providing maximum interim relief to the young lawyers should be announced to encourage them. At the end, Justice Iftikhar Hussain and President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Asma Jahangir distributed shields amongst the members of LBA executive body. LBA members presented a shield and bouquet to the justice also. Senior Civil Judge Shaikh Arif Hameed, Civil Judge Amjad Ali Bajwa, Civil Judge Riaz Ahmed Bhatti, Civil Judge Ghulam Mustafa Chaudhry and others were also present on the occasion.
