Kashmir Highway project to complete next year



ISLAMABAD  – The Capital Development Authority would complete the expansion of Kashmir High Highway project by next year.
The project is estimated to cost Rs 4.8 billion. The expansion work started in 13 February 2012. Concrete work on the project would start in March 2013. According to CDA officials the Kashmir High way would be extended to 5 lanes from 2 lanes on both sides. CDA Member Engineering Sanaullah Aman has directed the contactors to pace up the work on the project.
Meanwhile,  Regional Transport Authority has impounded 154 vehicles for overloading and overcharging.
Secretary RTA Ajmal Hussain Bokhari told that during the month of December 5000  vehicles were checked out of which 154 were impounded  for overloading, overcharging and those carrying substandard cylinders.
He said that the authority is committed to safeguard the public and their campaign against such public transport vehicles would continue which are not following the safety guidelines.
