No deployment on check posts after terror attacks



PESHAWAR - The government has yet to deploy personnel of Levies Force on the check posts in Frontier Region (FR) Peshawar, after armed militants had stormed these posts, killing two personnel and kidnapping 21 others - who were also later executed, sources said on Monday.
They said that despite laps of 18 days, government has not made mind yet to deploy personnel of the Levis Force on three check-posts in Koi Hassan Khel, Zakhi Sar Musa Darra and Jani Khwar, a semi-tribal area in FR Peshawar after kidnapping and later execution of 21 personnel of the force by militants.
On December 27, last year, a group of well-armed militants, stated to be more than 200 in numbers, attacked on three check-posts in Koi Hassan Khel, Zakhi Sar Musa Darra and Jani Khwar killed two Levies Force personnel on spot and kidnapped 21 others. The two personnel were gunned down, when they reportedly resisted militants.
On the third day of the incident, militants killed all those 21 kidnapped personnel of Levis Force.
Their bodies were found dumped in a nullah near Koi Hassan Khel area. Since then, no new Levis Force personnel have been deployed on that thee check-points, as the personnel of the forces have reportedly refused to perform duty on that checkpoints which have been lying vacant since December 28, 2012, sources said.
They said that the government has started construction work on new check-posts, because the posts which have been attacked by militants were not properly built. Sources said that fear still exist among the residents of Koi Hassan Khel, Zakhi Sar Musa Darra and Jani Khwar after the gruesome act by militants in FR Peshawar.
