PPP Balochistan president declares day of salvation





QUETTA - Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Balochistan President Mir Sadiq Umrani said that imposition of governor rule was a day of salvation for the people of the province.
Addressing a press conference on Monday accompanied by Jan Ali Changezi, Saifullah Paracha and Syed Iqbal Shah, Umrani said that there should be an investigation into the corruption made during the tenure of Raisani government and facts should be made public. He said that 1,100 Hazaras, besides hundreds of other people were killed during Raisani’s rule. 
“The provincial government completely failed to perform its duties which paved the way for governor rule.”He said that the PPP government addressed concerns of masses by ousting its own government and people across the country hailed this decision.
He said that he had expressed non-confidence in the provincial government two months earlier, adding that the funds allotted to the provincial government in last four and half years were unprecedented. “But these funds were misused due to incompetence of the chief minister, leaving the masses deprived. He said that the fate of the people of Balochistan could have been changed with the huge funds provided by the federal government but themoney was used to build castles and foreign assets. He said: “We also remained part of this government and therefore we present ourselves for accountability.” He said that development funds of those who opposed Raisani were halted.
“But, those who supported the misdeeds of the government were awarded with secrete funds,” he said, adding that on sacking of the provincial government, the masses had observed “day of deliverance”.
He said:“We equally share the grief of the Hazarasand it was an ambivalent situation as the loss of lives and the sacking of government came simultaneously. “We never bargained over the principles nor would we in the future.”
He said that PPP would again go to condolewith Hazara families on behalf of President Zardari, Prime Minister Ashraf and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
He said that Raisani government surpassed the regimes of Ziaul Haq and Pervez Musharrafin bad governance.
He said that DGPRbanned publishing news against the government, adding that even dictators did not go that far to strangulate the freedom of speech.
He also praised the role of media and paid tributes to the journalists who lost their lives in the line of duty.
