Carrying cutlery, hundreds of perturbed women along with their children took to the streets against the prolonged loadshedding of gas amidst light rain and severe cold.

It was the second anti-gas loadshedding demonstration in Sambrial during the last four days. They held demonstrations in Sambrial on main Sialkot-Sambrial-Wazirabad Road. They also kept the traffic blocked for two hours by burning tyres against the prolonged loadshedding of gas and shortage of gas. They were also carrying kitchen items and chanting slogans demanding early end to the gas loadshedding.

The protesting women revealed that there was 18 to 20 hours loadshedding of gas for the domestic consumers in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial, Uggoki, Chawinda, Badiana, Pasrur and surrounding areas.

The pressure of gas remains very low in the rest of time due to which they were unable to even prepare meals to eat.

The situation has been irking the domestic consumers especially the females for the last one and half months. They said that the situation had now become unbearable for them as no gas, no LPG and no firewood was available to run their kitchens in such severe cold and dense foggy weather.

There was no let-up in load shedding of gas, as the entire Sialkot district was badly hit by the daily hours-long loadshedding of gas. The perturbed consumers were of the view that they had stepped in the New Year 2015 but they could not get rid of the gas loadshedding…
