Inaugurating a science laboratory and a vocational training centre at Sakhi Village and Hafizabad city, Ambassador of Japan Hiroshi Inomata said that the Japan government has given top priority to empowerment of women in Japan as well as other countries under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minster Shinzo Abe.

The envoy said that the provision of colossal for the establishment of a science laboratory in remote village and the Vocational Training Centre in Hafizabad was one of the examples of such commitments of the Japan Government. He hoped that the project would not only improve the female education and skills of the local community but also contribute in strengthening the friendly relations between the people of Japan and Pakistan.

He said that the project has been completed at a cost of US $ 113,264 provided by Japan to the Raj International Institute Trust (RIEIT), an NGO actively working for grassroots development in the area. The ceremony was attended among others by officials of Japanese Embassy, notables of the local community and students of new facilities.

The Science Laboratory has been established in village Sakhi (Hafizabad) where the students receive free education. The Vocational Training Centre has been established in Hafizabad city to provide skill development opportunity for women of the area which would go a long way in contributing to enhance employability, he added.

Mr Saifullah Zia, chairman of RIEIT, has thanked the Government of Japan for taking keen interest in the empowerment of women in the area by providing huge funds for the establishment of new facilities.
