SFP executive committee takes important decisions

ISLAMABAD - The executive committee meeting of the Ski Federation of Pakistan was held under the chair of its president Air Marshal Sohail Gul Khan here Wednesday.
A numbers of decisions were taken during the lengthy meeting. The president emphasised that all the efforts would be made in the best interest of promoting skiing in the country.
SFP secretary Air Commodore Mussarat Ali briefed the members about the upcoming Winter Games and selection of dream team for Korea. He also informed about the FIS ski coaching programme and Asian Ski Championship. The meeting also approved the code of conduct and competition rules 2015 with amendments.
The project in charge of the Naltar ski lift Group Captain Shahid Nadeem apprised the members about the new ski lift of Naltar. He also briefed them about the avalanche treatment and measures at Naltar ski sloop. On the query of the members, Shahid gave detailed briefing on the survey of FIS inspector who visited Naltar and Malam Jaba ski sloop for certifications of both the sloops. He informed that although the final report of the Naltar sloop had yet to be sent by the FIS yet it was believed that sloop would be declared and certified as international standard.
The members endorsed the recommendations and advice of the FIS representative and offered their all-out support to the in-charge of the project. The meeting also passed resolutions unanimously in favor of all the technical members of the ski lift, who, despite hard season and difficult task, installed and successfully completed the operation of the new ski lift at Naltar Gilgit-Baltistan. They recommended special incentives and reward for the PAF technical team.
The committee also passed the code of conduct for the players and officials, however, the media policy of the federation could not be discussed and put off till the next meeting of the committee.
It was also decided that international snow day would be celebrated on January 18 and social arrangements and functions would be held at Kalabagh and Naltar. All the ski associations and members were also asked to celebrate the day accordingly. The meeting also decided to hold technical delegate seminar regularly to train and educate the technical teams of the federation.
