LAHORE - A special anti-terrorism court on Wednesday set free two persons accused of killing a doctor and his son in 2013 after prosecution witnesses denied recognising them.

Doctor Ali Haider and his son were killed in 2013 and police took two accused Raoof Gujar and Sabir Shah into custody. Police, in challan submitted before the court, had declared them guilty.

The counsel of the accused told the judge that his clients were innocent and the prosecution witnesses had also failed to recognise them. He requested the court to set them free.

The court accepted his plea and acquitted them from the charges of killing Dr Haider and his son on Canal Road.
