islamabad - An Islamabad traffic police officer Muhammad Shafi died here yesterday when a speeding car hit him near Faizabad.
The sub-inspector was on duty when the vehicle (LXZ-6411) hit him near Faizabad traffic police office.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he breathed his last. Police have registered a case against the car driver, Qasim Zeb after arresting him on the spot and further investigation is under way.
The funeral prayer of the deceased was offered here at Police Lines Headquarters which was also attended by SSP Traffic Malik Matloob. The deceased left behind five sons, two daughters and a widow.
Meanwhile, Kohsar police have registered a case against unknown persons in connection with Wednesday’s attack at the ARY News office in Islamabad. The case has been booked on the application of security guard Muhammad Ashraf under section 427, 324 of the PPC, Explosives Act and 7-ATA. The investigation is going on with no lead about the attackers and no arrests made so far.
Furthermore, a gas blast at the house of a former judge, Justice Waheed Bhatti caused burn injuries to his son in the limits of Sihala police station.
He was immediately shifted to Shifa hospital for medical treatment.
