ISLAMABAD - The Islamabad High Court yesterday directed to de-freeze accounts of Pakistan Football Federation at a writ petition of PFF President Faisal Saleh Hayat and General Secretary Col (retd) Ahmed Yar Lodhi. The IHC bench comprising Justice Aamir Farooq accepted the petition and observed that PFF is a private body and Federal Investigation Agency has no powers to freeze its accounts. In the petition, the petitioners nominated interior secretary, DG FIA Islamabad and FIA Commercial Banking Circle Lahore SHO Rab Nawaz Sial as respondents. They had adopted that the interior ministry has no administrative authority over PFF, a private entity. They argued that FIA under the pretext of an inquiry has frozen PFF accounts whereas it has no powers to conduct inquiry.
