TOBA TEK SINGH/ CHICHAWATNI-A couple and their three daughters died and six others sustained injuries a speeding bus crushed a carry van here on Rajana Road near new fruit market on Sunday.
According to police and Rescue 1122, the family members, resident of Chak 317/JB, were on the way to Ghazi Abad locality to attend an engagement function. The deceased persons were identified as Abdul Raheed, his wife Shamim and three daughters - Shagufta, Nazia and Shazia while the injured are: Faizan, Shania, Naeem, Afzal, Orya and Faiza who were admitted to DHQ Hospital Toba. Two of the injured Faizan and Shania, however, were referred to Faisalabad Allied Hospital due to their critical condition.
The police impounded both the vehicles and registered a case of the incident.
10 SUSTAIN BURNS
In Chichawatni, at least 10 persons sustained critical burns when a passenger van caught fire due to short circuit here on Sunday.
Rescue sources said that due to sparking caused by short circuit, a passenger van caught fire on Kamalia Road in Chichwatni.
Resultantly 10 persons on board the passenger van sustained burns and were hospitalized for treatment.
