LAHORE - Separate emergency blocks costing Rs965 million are being constructed in five district headquarters hospitals of Jehlum, Rajanpur, Bhakkar, Bhawalnagar, and Muzafargarh during the current fiscal year under the Chief Ministers plan to provide indiscriminate medical facilities to the people. It was disclosed by the Secretary Health Punjab, Fawad Hassan Fawad while presiding over a meeting here Wednesday. Besides, Special Secretary Health Abdullah Khan Sumbal, Special Secretary Development Waseem Mukhtar, Additional Secretary Technical, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Sulehrya and other concerned officers attended the meeting. Secretary Health further said that due to rapid growth in population, number of patients as well as road accidents are increasing day by day so accidental and emergency departments of the hospitals need to be improved with regard to their capacity for providing best treatment facilities in order to save the people of far-flung areas from facing the difficulty of taking their sick and injured ones to the big cities for treatment. He said that the new blocks of these hospitals would also be equipped with latest diagnostic facilities.
