LAHORE - Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, central leader of PML-Q has alleged that the self-proclaimed Khadim-e-Aala has lost the case of Punjab at every forum. He expressed these views while talking to various delegations of PML-Q in Gujrat on Wednesday. He alleged that whether it was the NFC Award, Kalabagh Dam, loadshedding or Punjabs right on water for irrigation, the PML-N Government has sacrificed Punjabs interests at all occasions for vested political gains. Ch Pervaiz said that the Chashma-Jhelum Link Canal remained closed for the last nine months and the rulers paid a deaf ear to the affected farmers protests and their demand for restoration of water for their crops and livelihood. He said that to show their solidarity with the rights of the farmers of South Punjab the PML MPAs in Punjab Assembly worn black bands and boycotted the assembly proceeding on Wednesday, while members of PML-Q would continue their protest in Punjab Assemblys current session until the demands of the hapless and poverty stricken farmers of South Punjab were not met and the reopening of Chashma-Jhelum Link Canal. CM flayed for compromise on water issue The Chief Minister Punjab instead of getting due share of water from Chasma-Jhelum Link Canal for the farmers of South Punjab compromised on its closure, alleges Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly, Ch Zaheer-ud-Din. He expressed these views while talking to the media on Wednesday outside the Punjab Assembly after boycotting the Assemblys session against the closure of Chasma-Jhelum Link Canal. Ch Zaheer alleged that Chief Minister went to Islamabad to sell the rights of the people of Punjab. He demanded immediate opening of the Chasma-Jhelum Link Canal, as the lives of millions of farmers depended on it. The Opposition Leader said that the CM stated last year that he would not compromise on a single drop of water of the province, while the facts were otherwise as Chasma-Jhelum Link Canal closed for nine months.
