Lahore dist Basketball gets underway

LAHORE The Lahore District Basketball Championship rolled into action here at the Punjab College of Commerce courts with participation from all the clubs of the affiliated units. Former director general Sports Board Punjab Khawar Shah inaugurated the championship. Two matches were played on Wednesday and in the first game Don Bosco (Urdu medium) A defeated the New Age Basketball Club by 49 points to 34. At half time score was 24-13 in favour of Don Bosco (Urdu) A. Individual score: Don Bosco (Urdu) A: Aashir Gill 10, Salman Butt 10, Shaan Malik 9, Yasir 6, Husnain Malik 5, Haseeb 5, Hasnan Butt 2, Aneel Gill 2 New Age Club Individual score: Hussain 18, Suneel Moni 7, Izhar 7, Abdullah 2. In the second match Don Bosco (English) A got walk over against Eagles Club, which did not turn up in the court. Earlier, Don Bosco (Urdu) B team lost to Fazal-e-Omer Club 36 and 39. At half time score was 18 and 24 in favour of Don Bosco (Urdu) B team. Individual score Fazal-e-Omer Club: Khalid 14, Mujtaba 9, Raza 8, Izhr 4, Hamza 2, Adeel 2. Individual score Don Bosco (Urdu) B tem; Umair 12, Ibrar Ch 8, Sheraaz 7, Bilal 4, Sabetrain 3, Dawood 4. In another match, Don Bosco Old Boys Club beat Defence Club 77 and 53. Individual score Defence Club; Kamran 18, Ammad 10, Muzzumul 9, Mutahir 8, Faheem 8. On Tuesday, Don Bosco (Urdu) B team will face Fazal-e-Omer Club and Don Bosco old boys meet Defence Club.
