ISLAMABAD Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has reiterated that development and prosperity in FATA and the adjoining areas would help curb the extremist tendencies. He said that the government has doubled the development funds of FATA public representatives and would remain focused to transform this region into a symbol of progress and prosperity. He was talking to Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Owais Ahmad Ghani here at the Prime Ministers Secretariat on Wednesday. The Prime Minister also discussed with the Governor the security situation in FATA and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Gilani emphasised that the elected representatives need to monitor and give a proper feedback to ensure timely completion of the projects. The Governor thanked the Prime Minister for generous allocation of the development funds for the uplift of FATA and assured proper and prompt utilisation of these funds for the development of the region. He also thanked the Prime Minister for his keen interest in the welfare of the people of FATA.
