LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the government is utilising maximum resources for the speedy development of the province and provision of basic amenities to the masses and a record amount of Rs 193 billion has been allocated in the new budget for uplift projects. He expressed these views while talking to assembly members hailing from various districts who called on him at Assembly Chambers on Wednesday. He said that completion of development schemes would result in availability of better facilities to the masses. Shahbaz Sharif said that a comprehensive strategy has been adopted for the timely and transparent completion of development project and a high standard of uplift projects is being ensured. He said that after Sasti Roti Scheme, Sasti Roti Dastark-hwan Programme has been launched with the cooperation of philanthropists and a large number of poor and deserving persons are benefiting from this project throughout the province. The CM stressed upon the assembly members to take an active part in the implementation of welfare-oriented project and besides monitoring Sasti Roti Scheme, should also review Sasti Roti Dastarkhwans in their respective areas and motivate maximum number of well-to-do and pubic-spirited persons to take part in this programme. He said that elected representatives should also maintain a close contact with the people for the solution of their problems and also ensure timely completion of uplift projects. Assembly members apprised the Chief Minister about the development activities and problems of the people of their respective areas. Those who met the Chief Minister included Raheela Khadim Hussain, Malik Jalal-ud-Din Dhakko, Sardar Atif Hussain Khan Mazari, Ahsan Raza Khan, Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan and Rai Farooq Umer Khan Kharal. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has constituted a seven members special committee headed by Senior Provincial Advisor, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, which will review the demands of PCS Officers Association. Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah Khan, Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Advocate General Punjab Khawaja Haris, Additional Chief Secretary Punjab, Secretary Services and Secretary Law Punjab have been nominated as members of the committee. This committee will submit its recommendations to Chief Minister after holding a meeting with PCS Officers.
