ISLAMABAD The Capital Police Wednesday submitted a confidential report before a three-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, regarding steps taken by it for the recovery of the missing student Hassan Sharjeel, 17, son of Shakeel Ahmad Turabi, Editor-in-Chief SANA news. Justice Ghulam Rabbani and Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Ramday were the other two members of the bench. Chief Justice asked the Inspector General Police Kaleem Imam, We have concerns over the childs recovery rather than mere reports and tales. Seeing the well-decorated file in the hands of police officials, Justice Ramday remarked, It means that the police could not recover the boy and only have desire to get the numbers only for well written reports. IG Imam appeared before the court along with DIG Banni Amin, SSP Tahir Alam and other officials of his department. Police officials claimed that considerable progress had been made in the case and sought one month time for the recovery of the boy. IG Kaleem Imam told the bench that the Joint Investigation Team was very close to arrest the most dangerous people who were associated with Hassans abduction. He also revealed some points from the claimed confidential reports of JIT, saying that the police intended to visit Miranshah for that purpose. Chief Justice asked the IG that he was revealing his confidential report saying, Tell us, would this report lead you to the right direction. Kaleem replied that it was the third option that Hassan might have been associated with the dangerous people, and the police had reached very close to four such wanted persons. It is to be mentioned here that the court has turned down the police request regarding postponement of the case for a month and adjourned the hearing till July 30, 2010.
