LAHORE - A young woman who was allegedly tortured by an ASI of Special Branch, Qabulan Sharif, District Arifwala, has warned to commit suicide in front of Punjab Chief Ministers Office if a strict action was not taken against the police highhan-dedness and she was not granted justice. The victim woman Farzana Bibi, resident of Qabulan Sharif staging a protest demonstration in front of Lahore Press Club here on Wednesday, has appealed to Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Ch and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to provide her justice. The victim Farzana Bibi alleged that Bashir Alvi, an ASI in Special Branch, forced her to leave her home besides involving her in bogus theft cases. Farzana Bibi said ASI Bashir along with his five accomplices entered her house in October last year when she along with her younger sister was present alone at home and misbehaved her. He torn my clothes when I tried to stop him, she alleged. She said meanwhile her brother came to the house and he tried to save her from Bashir but ASI and his accomplices started thrashing him and meanwhile she (Farzana) managed to escape from the house. I was half naked and after running few yards away from the house I became unconscious, she added. She said the Qabulan Sharif police station however refused to register a case against Bashir and his accomplices. She added that she approached to DSP Arifwala Saleem Wariach with the same plea but he also refused to provide her justice. The police however registered a case against the accused on the directives of the DPO Pakpatan but the SHO intentionally avoided mentioning all the sections, which must be brought on the board in the FIR, she said and added few days back the SHO has pronounced the ASI Bashir innocent in his investigation report. Now Bashir is implicating me in fake theft cases and the police is harassing me besides forcing to leave the house, she alleged. Farzana has appealed to Chief Minster Punjab to provide her justice and demanded strict legal action against the ASI.
