GUJRANWALA - The law enforcement agencies on Saturday arrested 78 persons, suspected of attack on a army camp here on Saturday.According to officials, the police along with intelligence agencies carried out joint raids in various areas in People’s colony and Amainabad area. The police said the arrested suspects belonged to politico-religious and outlawed outfits who allegedly attacked army camp near Gujrat.  The police said fresh arrests were carried out on the information extorted from already arrested accused. The arrested men were shifted to undisclosed place for further investigation of Gujrat attack incident.The operation was launched in the areas surrounding the Chenab following a terrorist attack on an army camp at the river bank. Sources said the country’s premier intelligence and other agencies were actively working on the case and the role of the local police had been marginalised.Another source said the involvement of “religious extremists” could not be ruled out.Seven army personnel and a policeman died in a brazen attack on a camp near a bridge on the Chenab River on last Monday. According to source in the police, some the suspects have aided and abetted the attack on under training jail warden from Kyber Pakhtunkhwa in Lahore a couple of days ago.
