WAZIRABAD - The Chowkidara system introduced by great king Sher Shah Suri is being revived in shape of Union Council Beat Police System (UCB) at UC level. The Police and citizens should agree on one point as difference in stance will lead to the thriving of tout culture. Gujranwala RPO Muhammad Amin Vance expressed the views while addressing the inauguration of UCB Police System here the other day.Speaking on the occasion, the RPO stated that the system was started from wazirabad in Gujranwala district and each UCB would have one Mini-SHO and 5 Constable with the facility of wireless system and motorcycles.Amin Vance stressed that each UCB must have the record of nobles and criminal persons of the respective area. “Each SHO should arrange a KHOJI (searcher) who may move swiftly after the occurrence of cattle-lifting incident and Beat constable will provide them shelter”, he added. a“Illegal occupiers and looters of marriage processions should forswear to their malpractice “, he added. He pointed out that land grabbers would be booked under dacoity and theft charges and would not be given opportunity to get stay order from Courts. Earlier RPO along with MNA Iftikhar Ahmad Cheema and Ch Hassan Nawaz Jawinda inaugurated UCB System and handed over motorcycles and wireless operators to the Mini-SHOs of 32 Union councils.MNA Iftikhar Ahmad Cheema, MPA Shaukat Cheema, Gujranwala CPO Malik Kamran, AC Muhammad Sohail Akhtar and Saddr Police SHO Farhat Bhatti also spoke on the occasion.
