PPP party of martyrs, downtrodden: Khosa

HAFIZABAD / VEHARI - Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa has declared that the Pakistan People’s Party is the party of martyrs, peasants workers and downtrodden people and its workers are prepared to thwart conspiracies against the democracy by some “un-elected elements and sacred cows.” The governor was addressing a big gathering after the inauguration of sui gas supply projects in Wachhoke Kalan, Wachhoke Khurd, Muttam and Panjhatha village, 20-km from here the other night. The projects were completed with a cost of Rs18,425 million.Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Latif Khosa said that first elected prime minister ZA Bhutto was hanged, BB was martyred and his two brothers were killed while scores of PPP workers were martyred by the dictators but still the party is being run on the vision of ZAB and BB.He said that the masses were fountainhead of power and Parliament is Supreme. He criticized the double standard of judiciary and said that ex-PM Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani was disqualified and sent to his house by the Apex Court and despite our reservation we accepted the court verdict. He said that the PPP believed in the independence of Judiciary and that was why BB Shaheed and all PPP stalwarts including (he) had struggled for the independence of judiciary and restoration of the judges, sacked by the then dictator Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf.He lashed out at the Punjab government and said that Rs22 billion has been “wasted” on the distribution of laptops and billions of rupees were wasted on Tandoors, for their cheap popularity. He said that Punjab government had failed to resolve the problems of masses. He declared that days of Sharif Brothers are numbered and predicted that the PPP and PML-Q would wipe out Mian Brothers and Tsunami Khan (Imran) in the forthcoming elections. He said that Constitution has provided immunity to President of Pakistan and why should we hand over him to a third-class magistrate for prosecution. Whether it would not tarnish the image of Pakistani nation, he questioned. The Governor maintained that Asif Ali Zardari has not even a ‘DHELA’ (penny) in a foreign country. He urged Nawaz Sharif and Tsunami Khan to bring back their wealth as well as their sons to Pakistan. In VEHARI, Punjab Governor Latif Khosa offered condolence over the sad demise of Punjab Bar Council member Sardar Ghulam Abbas Baloch. He visited the residence Ghulam Abbas offered his condolence to Advocate Abdul Haq advocate on the death of his father. He prayed Allah Almighty to grant the departed soul eternal peace.
