Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Sherry Rehman has said that Pakistan has not okayed any American drone strikes on its territory in exchange for Washington’s “Sorry” over the Salala attacks. This is to bring to the notice of the respected lady that twenty-four persons were killed and many others were injured in one of the deadliest attacks carried out by US spy planes in the Gorweek village of Dattakhel area, North Waziristan Agency. The drone attack came just a day after the government restored the Nato supplies passing through Pakistan after accepting Sorry from the US for the losses suffered by Pakistani military at the Salala check post attack that killed 24 Pakistani soldiers. Now that the drone strikes have become a common feature, may we request our Ambassador to US to ask the US Government to tender a “Sorry” after every drone strike as part of their standard operating procedures.DR.
