LAHORE - Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the purpose of setting Ramazan bazaars is the provision of quality essential items to the masses at cut prices. “Ramazan bazaars and the effective steps taken by the government are resulting in relief to the citizens,” he said while addressing a meeting of Provincial Price Control Committee through video here Monday.

The Chief Minister directed immediate measures be adopted for stabilising the prices of vegetables and fruits and the rates of daily use items, fruits and vegetables be brought to the ‘reasonable level in the open market’. He said that quality essential items should be available to the masses at cheaper rates.

He said special attention should be paid to the quality of fruits and vegetables and rates of tomato and potato should be brought to a reasonable level. He said that no compromise will be made over the provision of quality essential items to the masses at the fixed rates.

The Chief Minister directed that the drive against hoarders and profiteers should be continued without any discrimination. Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Member Provincial Assembly Waheed Gul and concerned secretaries were present in the meeting of Provincial Price Control Committee held at Civil Secretariat.
