Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar,while speaking in the Parliament, advised the people to eat chickens if they could not afford daal, which is presently sold at Rs260 per kg whereas the chicken price is Rs 200 per kg because government has exempted sales and other taxes levied on chickens. Why are only chickens exempted from government taxes? Why not other food items such as milk, sugar, tea, rice, mineral water or eggs? Every knowledgeable Pakistani knows that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is now one of the largest producers of chickens in Punjab and called the King of poultry farming. When chicken prices will be less than other meat, its demand will increase thus more sales and more profits. Whatever the price of chicken, the majority of people cannot afford to eat it daily, when they do not even have pure drinking water.
