MPs seek July 8 as Edhi Day

ISLAMABAD - Lawmakers from opposition parties have submitted a resolution in the National Assembly Secretariat in a bid to get July 8 declared as “Ehdi day/National Humanitarian day / National Charity day”.

PPP in the resolution says, in order to promote the services of a national hero and the spirits of humanitarian values in the country July 8 should be declared as “Ehdi Day/National Humanitarian Day/National Charity day”.

“This house acknowledges the commendable humanitarian services of Abdul Sattar Edhi and expresses deep sorrow and grief over his sad demise and pays homage to him for his unparallel devotion to his cause worldwide,” the resolution said.
