Islamabad - Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Thursday removed from his post a senior officer of his ministry’s legal wing over negligence from duty.

Expressing his indignation over the performance of legal wing regarding Maulana Abdul Aziz case being heard before Islamabad High Court (IHC), he sought a detailed report from the ministry, said a press release.

He said interior ministry was not bound to get register First Information Report (FIR), however the court should have been presented correct report regarding the details of Maulana Abdul Aziz’s case.

He said despite presenting a detailed and comprehensive report by the ministry, the relevant officer was failed to seek attention of court in this regard.

Meanwhile, addressing the concluding session of one day “National Counter Extremism Workshop,” the minister said that Operation Zarb-e-Azb had reached in the final stage and now there was a need to defeat the terrorist mindset. He said that there was a need to pool up human and national resources to bring positive

change in the society.

He called upon the religious scholars, media persons, politicians and opinion leaders to design a coordinated strategy in this regard. He said Pak Army had rendered unmatched sacrifices in war against terrorism.
